The Challenge

  • Christy's Cakes had no owned website—customers found them on Facebook and messaged to place orders.
  • A photo-heavy bakery needs a fast gallery; bloated page builders choke on hundreds of cake images.
  • Event pop-ups and custom orders needed a clearer path than scattered social posts.

What We Built

  • Built a custom Astro site with React islands—static-first pages with interactive booking and gallery only where needed.
  • Wired a Cloudinary pipeline for 100+ optimized WebP images with responsive srcsets and lazy loading.
  • Added structured local business schema, Open Graph tags, and a booking form routed through Cloudflare Workers.

  • Customers can browse the full portfolio and submit event requests without leaving the site.
  • Professional hello@christyscakes.com contact paths alongside Messenger integration.
